In Germany in its Christmas campaign, nutella used radio as one of its main media channels for the first time. In addition to a successful TV campaign, radio generated incremental awareness of the Christmas promotion as well as sales uplift and significant ROI well over 1 euro. This campaign shows that radio is a great amplifier when added to the media mix. The results of the campaign were analysed via Audioeffekt, a joint research initiative of the two leading radio sales houses in Germany – AS&S and RMS. It successfully demonstrates the effectiveness of audio advertising on sales and a brand’s positioning.
