Bauer Media Audio Finland reaches around 3 million people weekly across 13 national and four local FM channels in Finland. In April 2026, Bauer launched Audiomator, a self-serve tool that lets advertisers edit and regenerate their own radio ad spots using AI, cutting production time from days to minutes. Bauer built Audiomator primarily for small and medium businesses, giving advertisers with no in-house production team or agency budget a way to create AI-generated spots and campaigns on their own.
New spot in 15 minutes
Audiomator sits inside Bauer’s existing commercial workflow. Bauer media professionals still build the initial ad structure and write the base script, then decide which specific text fields advertisers can edit. Advertisers can only change what’s been unlocked for them, such as price, discount percentage, or campaign timing, and can generate different versions for morning, midday, and evening slots. They can preview the AI-generated audio or upload their own recording instead.
Because editing rights are scoped by Bauer rather than left fully open, the platform keeps brand and quality control while still giving clients the self-service speed they need.
The tool was built in about six months with development partner Mearra, working from live prototypes rather than a fixed spec. This kept technical and commercial teams aligned on one shared interface throughout.
Why this matters for audio as a category
Producing a radio spot has traditionally meant studio time, agency coordination, and days of turnaround, with even a small price update requiring the whole process again. Digital platforms made display and text advertising instant and self-serve, and audio risked being left behind without the same flexibility. Audiomator closes that gap for Bauer.
Results
- Adoption reached beyond the original client target. Audiomator was built with small and medium businesses in mind, but some of Finland’s largest advertisers are now using it too.
- Lower cost to serve, for both sides. Advertisers save time and money by no longer routing every small edit through an agency, and Bauer has freed up agency capacity previously spent on low-margin production work.
- Internal buy-in mattered. The launch was treated as a company-wide win. Framing this kind of tool as a joint business-and-tech win, not a tech department deliverable, helped drive adoption internally.
Audiomator builds on Bauer’s broader AI track record, including a 2023 AI-powered radio launch, an automated news-reading integration with Finnish news agency STT, and an AI system for hyper-local traffic alerts that cuts announcement delivery to within 15 minutes and a 50-kilometre radius of an incident.
What’s next
The next phase is deliberately customer-led: Bauer is testing the tool in real use, listening closely to advertiser feedback, and prioritising the developments that show the strongest demand and clearest practical value.
