This questionnaire examines the opportunities available to TV broadcasters relating to the metaverse.

If you do not have activities in the metaverse:

  • Why don’t you run any campaigns or activities in the metaverse? e.g. lack of interest, resources, limited commercial gain?
  • Are you planning to launch campaigns or activities in the metaverse soon? If so, what kind of activities and when?

If you currently do have activities in the metaverse:

  • What kind of activities do you run across the metaverse? e.g. special content formats? Auto-promotion? Advertising for clients? B2B activities?
  • What metaverse platforms, or ‘worlds’, are you currently operating in? e.g. Fortnite, Roblox, Sandbox or other?
  • What ad-tech providers do you work with to develop content and/or ad formats for the metaverse?
  • Does the metaverse represent a growing commercial opportunity for your company? Do you expect your metaverse activities to grow significantly in the future?

If you run advertising in the metaverse:

  • If you offer ad formats in the metaverse, are these campaigns created in-house or by an external agency? If by an agency, which one?
  • What kind of brand integrations do you offer in the metaverse? e.g. sponsorship, product placement, interactive ads, owned metaverses, real-world ad placements, experience placements, NFTs, branded content etc.
  • How do you sell your metaverse brand integrations?
    What pricing system do you use?
    Are these products sold as stand-alone solutions or as apart of wider packages?
    Who operates ad sales for your metaverse inventory? e.g. your sales house or your partner metaverse platform

If you run special content formats in the metaverse:

  • What kind of special content formats do you run in the metaverse? e.g. concerts, livestreams, live events, other types of virtual events.
  • Do you collaborate with celebrities / influencers? Do you (plan to) use celebrity / influencer endorsements in the metaverse?
  • Please describe and share examples, links or images of any other types of metaverse activities not mentioned above.

Post-activity evaluation:

  • How do you evaluate the results / measure the success or effectiveness of your metaverse activities?
  • Can you share any insights or learnings from your metaverse activities? e.g.
    User perceptions and interactions with brands in the metaverse
    How the brand experience is different in the metaverse
    Best practices in terms of adapting campaigns for the metaverse
    Any evidence that user attention is higher in the metaverse
