egta, the Brussels-based association of television/video and radio/audio sales houses, which currently gathers 142 content monetisation, ad sales and revenue optimisation companies across Europe and beyond, is currently searching for a new colleague for its television Research and Market Insight department.

 

This person will work hand in hand with egta’s Director Research and help meet its members’ growing need for information and international benchmarks. He/she will structure questionnaires, help create surveys and databases, collate information, process it and feed it back to all interested parties in a clear, visual and helpful format.

He/she will also be responsible for the organisation of one to two events per year in line with the hottest research topics of the moment.

 

The ideal candidate:

  • has three to five years of practical experience in the media and advertising industry and understands the challenges of a fast-changing traditional media industry turned fully digital.
  • has no less than a perfect mastery of both spoken and written English
  • is comfortable with all Microsoft Office tools, in particular with Excel
  • is a team player
  • is able to multi-task and work under pressure
  • enjoys travelling

Having worked for a television or radio broadcaster/sales house or for a media agency is a plus.

The Academy of European Law (ERA), in cooperation with the EMR : Institute of European Media Law (EMR)will organise aConference on  8-9 June 2017 in Brussels offering Media law practitioners with an update on the reform of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD) which will be introduced by stakeholders from the audiovisual sector, and by representatives of EU and national institutions. It will also focus on the impact of the proposed Regulation on broadcasting organizations’ online (re) transmission of TV and radio  programmes. Other key issues impacting the media sector will be introduced by high ranking experts from the media and audiovisual sector, as well as from lawyers in private practice,  like the modernization of the e-privacy Directive, the recent EU initiatives as regards the role and responsibilities of Online platforms, the consequences of Brexit and recent trends at national levels posing questions as regards the independence of journalists and the media at large.
